Privacy

What we use

• Public company information. The company’s website, its announcement, blog, changelog or release notes, public filings, and the places its news appears, such as a press wire or Hacker News. For the clip itself we use the company’s logo, colours, words and product screenshots as published on its own pages.
• A business contact. The work e-mail address of one person at the company, usually a founder or the head of marketing, with their name. We take it from the company’s own pages or from a business e-mail finder that checks the address works. We don’t write to shared addresses such as info@.
• What happens on a clip page. Whether the clip played and for how long, downloads and checkout starts. We count these without storing your IP address.
• What you send us. If you buy, the payment provider tells us your e-mail address and whether the payment went through; we never see your card. If you ask us to e-mail the files, change a line, upload a screenshot or call you, we keep what you sent. A call request also keeps a record of your consent (the time, your IP address and browser) as proof that you asked.
• Replies. An automated assistant reads replies to our e-mails and answers from fixed templates.

Why

To make the clip, to e-mail the company about it (at most 3 e-mails), to deliver and support what you buy, and to keep our promise not to write again after you opt out. Writing to a company about its own public news is our legitimate interest under the UK and EU GDPR; you can object at any time and we stop.

Opting out

• Reply “stop” to any of our e-mails, or use the unsubscribe link in it. It takes effect straight away, and we won’t write to you again about any clip.
• To stop us from contacting your company at all, write to itamar@friedman-visions.com.
• To delete a clip and our record of your details, use the delete button on the clip’s page, or write to us.
• After an opt-out we keep only the address and the company’s domain on a do-not-contact list. That list is how we make sure we never write again, so it is the one record we keep.

Who else handles it

We don’t sell or rent personal data. Service providers run parts of PitchReel for us: Cloudflare for hosting and storage, an e-mail delivery service, the payment provider named at checkout, and AI services that help write and check clips from public material and read replies. They may process data outside your country, only to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

• A clip’s page and its free files stay up for 30 days. A buyer’s clean files stay available for 365 days after payment.
• We keep a contact’s details while we might write about the company’s next announcement: never after an opt-out, and not within 180 days of a message that got no reply. Ask and we delete them.
• Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. Write to itamar@friedman-visions.com and we answer within 30 days. If you are in the UK or the EU you can also complain to your data protection authority.
